Main objectives of Test Execution and Status Reporting are:
  • Using designed test cases/ test scripts and carrying out different levels of tests.
  • Reporting Test Results either using test results templates or using bug/defect-tracking systems.
  • Classifying errors reported based on source of origin, severity, class, and category
  • Ground rules in resolving errors so reported
  • Status reporting on errors reported, fixed, deferred, and rejected.
  • Maintaining and using error resolution information in predicting, releasing, and maintaining the software.
